The Paul Kaplan Group is:
A solid and inspirational crew of smart, creative and funny humans!
Steve was born and raised in South Florida where he passed time surfing and skateboarding. His love of modern architecture started early when his neighbor commissioned Dan Duckham to design and build an incredible Eichler / Wexler’esque post and beam, finished concrete block home. Steve watched the process and became obsessed with this style.
After high school at 17, he hopped in his 1973 VW Beetle and drove to San Diego to find bigger and better waves. The action sports industry was his calling, Steve opened two retail shops and designed a men’s and women’s surf apparel line that was distributed globally for 10 years. Retail and design were exciting but it was time to work his way into more of the sales side. Steve took a job with Oakley Eyewear, and it brought him back to his Florida roots. Steve “ stalked" the neighborhoods for that same Architect and found a 1963 beat up fixer! After a year of work, the home was updated and restored to its original luster.
While the technical and quality aspects of the Oakley brand were great, Steve was still more of the creative design type and took a sales job back in San Diego for Paul Frank industries and then the footwear brand Sanuk. !0 years of an amazing lifestyle and growth it was time for a career change from sunglasses and sandals to…..Real Estate, "the perfect balance of design, sales and client relationships."
Steve purchased his Donald Wexler Sunmor Estates model home with the help of a fellow Paul Kaplan agent and is thrilled to bring his passion for sales, architecture, and relationships to you.
