Donald Wexler is one of Palm Springs most Iconic architects and one of the founders attributed to the Desert Modernism movement here in Palm Springs and southern California.

Wexler was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 1926 and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota.He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1950and worked for Richard Neutra. He moved to Palm Springs in 1952 and practiced there for almost six decades, developing an architecture that is acutely sensitive to the extremes of the desert climate. In 1962, he designed the all-steel Alexander houses, along with the structural engineer Bernard Perlin for the developers George and Robert Alexander. Canadian homeowners have recently been selling off their Palm Springs real estate and making a healthy profit.

Due to the low Canadian dollar, it can mean  selling off U.S. real estate now can result in substantial financial gains. Right now, if a Canadian was to sell their Palm Springs home for $100,000 U.S.  it would make about $141,000 Canadian based on today's exchange rate.

It has been a busy summer in Palm Springs, and we have been selling lots of houses at the Paul Kaplan Group! We are looking forward to a very exciting season in our new offices at 1117 N Palm Canyon Drive. Continuing with my photos of the Palm Springs Class 1 Historic Sites, we are now up to #8 - the Palm Canyon Stone Street Marker on the corner of N Palm Canyon Dr and Chino Dr. If you have parked near Koffi, you have probably noticed this historic street marker. It was designated a Class 1 Historic Site by the Palm Springs City Council on November 7, 1984.

According to the October issue of Palm Springs Life magazine: Palm Springs continues to be the leading city in the Coachella Valley’s housing recovery. While most of the eight other cities in the valley are still 35 to 50 percent below their all-time highs, Palm Springs is only 12 percent away from its 2006 high. The current median price of $530,000 is 80 percent higher than the crisis low of $295,000 registered in December 2010. Home sales and real estate continues to look very positive in Palm Springs. historia Frances Stevens School - Paul Kaplan Group

Now home to the Palm Canyon Theatre, the Frances Stevens School at 538 N Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs was one of the first schoolhouses in the Coachella Valley. The first classrooms were built in 1927. The building was designated a Class 1 Historic Site by the Palm Springs City Council on November 7, 1984.
