Until recently, the best time to buy a house had long been considered spring and summer. But to our surprise- a recent study has found that Fall may actually be the best time to buy.  And even though the temps are still high in Palm Springs, you can still tour listings with an iced pumpkin spice latte to get yourself in the mood for fall.  

RealtyTrac's analysis of more than 32 million home sales over 15 years revealed that the best month to snag a deal when buying a home is October. The data also concluded that, on average, October buyers paid 2.6% below the estimated market value at the time for their homes. 

So why is Fall the best time to buy?

Sunmore Estate - A Treasure Trove of Mid-Century Homes

The Sunmor Estates neighborhood in central Palm Springs is a treasure trove of remarkably well maintained mid-century homes built by the Alexander Construction Company, Robert C. Higgins, and Jack Meiselman in the late 50s and early 60s. Though modest in comparison to many homes built today, these properties are sought after for their clean lines and hip provenance. When considering properties from this era, however, buyers are often forced into a dilemma between style and the economics of low efficiency.

The High Desert has quickly become a popular destination for tourists AND buyers, looking for something artistic, eclectic, and funky!
