The Paul Kaplan Group is proud to announce that the iconic Kenaston House in Rancho Mirage has just been sold by the Paul Kaplan Group's Stephanie Howard.
Designed in 1957 by renowned modernist architect E. Stewart Williams, who also designed Frank Sinatra's Twin Palms Estate in Palm Springs, the Kenaston House features 4,780 square feet of living space in a U-shape around the swimming pool and patio, with four bedrooms, four bathrooms and abundant glass walls and doors.
The home was commissioned by mining heir Robert Kenaston and his movie star wife, Billie Dove, as a wedding gift for their son Roderick W. Kenaston. The home is historically designated by the city of Rancho Mirage, and has been the frequent site of photo shoots and filming, most famously as the location of the 2005 W magazine photo shoot with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in a faux domestic setting (as you may remember, the shoot caused a bit of a scandal at the time since the issue of the magazine was released shortly after Jennifer Aniston filed for divorce from Pitt, citing "irreconcilable differences").
The home has been beautifully restored to preserve many of the original design elements and remains one of the premier examples of desert modern architecture.
We congratulate the buyer on her purchase, and Stephanie Howard, her agent, for making this transaction happen!
