Desert Tasty Tours
A three-hour tasting tour with stops at six different locations along Palm Canyon Drive may be just the way to familiarize (or re-familiarize yourself) with Downtown Palm Springs. Desert Tasty Tours offers the experience once per day from 11:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. daily, Tuesday through Saturday, from now until the end of May. Although you will enjoy a smorgasbord of samples and appetizers along the walk, the tour also incorporates city history, local culture, and Hollywood ancestry. It’s a learning experience, a hike, and lunch all rolled into one. For more information visit the tour website at www.deserttastytours.com.
The Saguaro introduces “A Taste of Saguaro” on Saturday night from 6:00 to 8:00. The price includes welcome reception with Spanish cava, demonstration and tasting, wines, sangria and margaritas. $25 per person. Jose Garces’ “The Latin Road Home” cookbook will be available to be autographed and may be purchased for $25. Reservations can be made by calling Simona Mitroi at the Saguaro, (760) 969-6481.
In preparation for the soon-to-be-released cookbook, A Taste of Sunnylands, the Rancho Mirage estate will be hosting Sunnylands Cuisine: Revisited for Today’s Palate on Tuesday, March 25, from 7:00 to 9:00p.m. Local chefs will be taking pages from the upcoming cookbook and creating samples. It’s a great way to combine dinner and a tour of the legendary mid-century modern property. Preregistration is required. Visit www.sunnylands.org or contact 760-202-2222 or firstname.lastname@example.org for more information. $55. As you can tell, we love desert area events that focus on food.
