Make your home stand out with The Paul Kaplan Group.

Today's technology makes it easier than ever for consumers to view any listing on the market. As agents, we can enter a home into the MLS, click a button, and watch it automatically appear on Zillow, Trulia, etc.

Unfortunately, that can also make it harder for Buyers to distinguish one listing from another. After a certain point, they all tend to look the same.

We wanted our listings to stand out from the crowd, so we decided to keep pushing.

The Paul Kaplan Group has been selling homes in all of these neighborhoods for two decades now, and are the local experts.  This week we'd like to introduce you to the Racquet Club Estates neighborhood, located on the north side of Palm Springs. The city of Palm Springs and surrounding areas are made up of numerous individual neighborhoods, each with a distinct history and vibe. The Paul Kaplan Group has been selling homes in all of these neighborhoods for two decades now, and are the local experts.  We'd like to introduce you to the El Rancho Vista Estates neighborhood in central Palm Springs which is a small enclave of homes, the majority of which were designed by Donald Wexler and Richard Harrison and built by developer Roy Fey. Which way should your home face in Palm Springs?  Most of the mid-century neighborhoods in Palm Springs, have overhead utility wires and telephone poles – it's a fact of life, unfortunately.  We at the Paul Kaplan Group, often joke with clients that the overhead wires are  part of the mid-century character of a neighborhood, since they never had underground utility lines in the '50s and '60s when these homes were built!   If you like mid-century homes, you'll have to like mid-century technology too.  Some neighborhoods, such as Deepwell, had worked with the City of Palm Springs to bury the overhead wires.  However, after the recession economy and budget cuts, that project was put on hold – so in the meantime, we just have to live with the wires!

The High Desert has quickly become a popular destination for tourists AND buyers, looking for something artistic, eclectic, and funky! I've been showing and selling homes in the high desert for the past year and see it growing in excitement and interest from people all over the world. The area delivers on those needs in the way of Restaurants, Coffee Shops, Vintage Shopping, Live Music Venues and more.  An honorable mention not featured on the list is the town of Joshua Tree and the National Park which is a WHOLE OTHER list by itself.  Here's my TOP 5 places in the HIgh Desert that keep me coming back:

The Paul Kaplan Group is grateful for the architects and developers who contributed to the "Desert Modernism" movement in Palm Springs.
