The Paul Kaplan Group has been selling homes in all of these neighborhoods for two decades now, and are the local experts.  We'd like to introduce you to the El Rancho Vista Estates neighborhood in central Palm Springs which is a small enclave of homes, the majority of which were designed by Donald Wexler and Richard Harrison and built by developer Roy Fey. Which way should your home face in Palm Springs?  Most of the mid-century neighborhoods in Palm Springs, have overhead utility wires and telephone poles – it's a fact of life, unfortunately.  We at the Paul Kaplan Group, often joke with clients that the overhead wires are  part of the mid-century character of a neighborhood, since they never had underground utility lines in the '50s and '60s when these homes were built!   If you like mid-century homes, you'll have to like mid-century technology too.  Some neighborhoods, such as Deepwell, had worked with the City of Palm Springs to bury the overhead wires.  However, after the recession economy and budget cuts, that project was put on hold – so in the meantime, we just have to live with the wires!

The High Desert has quickly become a popular destination for tourists AND buyers, looking for something artistic, eclectic, and funky! It’s no secret that temperatures rise in the desert during the summer, but as year-round Palm Springs residents, the Paul Kaplan Group team has some tips on how to beat the heat!

Hit the Pool

Spending your days (and nights) in the pool is a summertime ritual in the desert, preferably with a cold beverage in hand. Some resorts in the desert offer a paid day pass that allows you to use the facilities, such as Ace Hotel & Swim Club or the hotels participating in
